Handover of ICT Equipment: Desktops, Laptops, Projectors, Peripherals, and Microprocessor Kits
2 September 2026 – The Tonga Safe and Resilient Schools Project will hand over ICT equipment’s to the Ministry of Education and Training (MET) to strengthen ICT infrastructure in middle and high schools.
This support addresses the shortage of ICT resources in beneficiary schools, strengthening teaching and learning outcomes. Beneficiaries include 7 Government High Schools and 9 Non-Government High Schools in Tongatapu, along with 32 Government Middle Schools and 2 Non-Government Middle Schools, of which 18 Government Middle Schools and 2 Non-Government Middle Schools are in the outer islands. All beneficiary schools will receive laptops and other ICT equipment.
The equipment comprises 220 laptops, 350 desktops, 130 projectors, and 105 wireless keyboards, along with two licenses each for Sophos Endpoint Protection and Microsoft Office Professional Plus.
The handover will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, 4 September 2026, at the Ministry of Education and Training (MET).
